The outtake of 'I Got A Woman'
released on Today, Tomorrow And Forever is spliced
from the intro of the already released Platinum take (0:00-0:03, "I got a woman") and
the second half (0:59-2:26, "way 'cross town"...end)
of previously unreleased take.
"(In)Complete" in this context means
that the take is incomplete because the rest was
erased by a recording engineer, when the tape was
reused for sessions with another artist. What is
left of this session is presented perfectly on the
Follow That Dream release of Elvis Presley.
The re-recording of 'Heartbreak Hotel' can found as an additional track on the 2015 special vinyl UK box-set release of If I Can Dream. The standard CD release of If I Can Dream, which contained Elvis' original vocals but with new backings by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and which actually went to number one in the UK album charts, did not contain this track.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package. |
