All songs were recorded in binaural.
An edited (2:24) version of 'Have I Told You
Lately That I Love You', which omitted the
instrumental intro, was released in 1987 on the
BMG Ariola release The Definitive Country Album.
The master of 'Is It So Strange' is documented
as being just Take 12, but the Jordanaires had
to overdub two additional "Bop, Bop"s
to cover Elvis trying, and failing, to hit the
high note at the point where he sings "To
waste a love like ours would be a si-hiii-hiiiiin
..".
This is not documented and only transpired with
the release of Take 12 in binaural on Close Up where the difference to the original master can
be heard.
The re-recording of 'It Is No Secret (What God Can Do)' can found on the deluxe edition of the 2017 album Elvis: Christmas With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which contained Elvis' original vocals but with new backings by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The standard CD release of Elvis: Christmas With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra did not contain this track.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package.
Thanks to Adrian V Stokes regarding the edited
versions of songs on the BMG Ariola set of Definitive albums.
Thanks to Josep Rulló Guardia for discovering
the difference on 'Is It So Strange'.
