The movie version of 'I Need Somebody To Lean
On' has
a prominent saxophone throughout, that is not
present on the record version and is compiled as such:
0:00 - 1:18 = 2402-01 (2005-20 with added reverb on vocals) and overdubbed saxophone (2561-02 & 2545-01)
1:19 - 3:14 = 2403-01 (2005-20 with upfront vocals) and overdubbed saxophone (2561-02 & 2545-01)
The 1st movie version of 'Viva
Las Vegas' has an extra instrumental intro, and the 2nd movie version has overdubbed bongos throughout.
Despite various rumours over the years, musician James Burton only contributed to the soundtrack for Viva Las Vegas at the scoring session on October 17 1963.
The tracks listed as being on the Elvis One releases From Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, California (The Bootleg Series Vol. 17) and From Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, California - Part 2 (The Bootleg Series Vol. 24) all appear to be lifted from the Blu-Ray release of Viva Las Vegas, where the "Score" can be found on a separate track of the Blu-Ray disc, mostly in stereo and some of it without talking etc, which can be heard in the soundtrack of the movie.
All timings in the 'Musical Breakdown' below are taken from the Blu-Ray release of the movie.
