Except for masters and alternate masters - all
original 3-Track tapes are lost.
Celluloid Rock Volume 2 (Cool Romeo)
has a binaural mix used for the masters.
There is no information for production numbers 2015 and 2016 (except 2015 being listed as "Kickdrum"), but they could be for instrumental work done on the new track for 'City By Night'.
Production numbers 2020 and 2021 are for instrumentals originally to be used in the movie. 2020 is the same tune as 2021 but played at a much slower pace. These were eventually not used in the movie, with 2021 being re-recorded as 'Vicuna (Claire's Theme)' on November 18 1966 during scoring of the movie.
It is unknown exactly when Elvis recorded his vocal overdub to track 2027 (2001-03 (slowed down) / 2017-03), but an acetate with two slightly different mixes, was cut on July 26 1966, and as acetates were normally cut the day after they were recorded, an educated guess is that Elvis recorded his vocal on Monday July 25 1966.
An approximation of how the musical score fits into the movie is shown below, but this is just an educated guess as some timings of tracks do not match timings on MGM's Daily Music Reports from the scoring sessions.
All timings in the 'Musical Breakdown' below are taken from the DVD release of the movie.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package.
Thanks to Erik Rasmussen and Kevan Budd for information on the missing production numbers and overdubs for 'City By Night'.
