The undubbed master of 'For The Good Times'
is listed on the Venus bootleg Unedited
Masters - Hollywood To Nashville 1972-1980 although it actually contains Elvis' harmony vocal
overdub. This appears to be from a tape source
as opposed to the harmony vocal overdub that appeared
on the bootleg Pure Diamonds Volume 4 from two
diferent acetate sources.
Originally, Take 25 of 'Separate Ways' was considered for the master and is contained on an acetate pressed after the sessions (shown below).
The overdubbed version of 'Separate Ways'
can be found on the bootlegs For The Good
Times and Tiger Man Volume 2,
taken from an acetate source, and in much improved sound quality from a tape source on the Venus bootleg Unedited Masters - Nashville Revisited.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package.
