The undubbed masters on Our Memories Of Elvis weren't really the pure undubbed masters. They
were the fully overdubbed or regular masters but
with certain instruments and backing vocal channels
removed or stripped down.
The undubbed master of 'Moody Blue' on the
bootleg More Pure Elvis and all other
sources listed except Elvis Among Friends and Memphis is as stated above, as the backing vocals are
not present apart from Elvis Among Friends,
which was recorded live during the recording session, on a cassette recorder.
Take 3 of 'Moody Blue' is listed on FTD's The
Jungle Room Sessions, but what we actually get
on there is Take 7 (LFS), a line from the beginning
of Take 8, the announcement of Take 4, then the
announcement of and complete Take 5.
The released master of 'Moody Blue' is faded.
A different edited (2:25) version of 'Moody
Blue', with omitted part of first and second
chorus' ("I keep hangin' on, try to learn
the song but I never do, Oh moody blue tell me
who I'm talkin' to..."), was released in
1987 on the BMG Ariola release The Definitive
Country Album.
An edited (2:22) version of 'I'll Never Fall
In Love Again', with omitted verses ("And
it looks like Im never gonna fall in love
again. Fall in love, Im never gonna fall
in love, I mean it, I mean it, fall in love again.
I gave my heart so easily, cast aside my pride.
When I saw you in his arms baby I broke up and
cried"), was released in 1987 on the BMG
Ariola release The Definitive Love Album.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package.
On the Sony Legacy release Way Down In The Jungle Room all masters have been remastered and all outtakes have been remixed.
Thanks to Adrian V Stokes regarding the edited
versions of songs on the BMG Ariola set of Definitive albums.
