Unfortunately, the tape containing the session for 'America'
was erased and recorded over with the session
for 'Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain'. The beginning
and ending of 'America' can be heard on the
bootleg Welcome To The Jungle - Way Down and the ending can also be heard on FTD's The Jungle
Room Sessions although it isn't listed on the
cover.
Elvis would sing some of The Platters songs such
as 'Only You', 'Twilight Time' and 'My
Prayer', between takes, while recording in
the Jungle Room. Cassette recordings of some of
these performances are rumoured to exist.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package.
On the Sony Legacy release Way Down In The Jungle Room all masters have been remastered and all outtakes have been remixed.
